Gout Remedies: Taking A Natural Approach
by Meera Watts
A complex system of organ systems, organs and tissues make up the human body. Several biochemical and metabolic reactions are taking place inside it. Resulting from these reactions are a variety of toxic substances, the removal of which is necessary for your body to remain in a healthy state.
One byproduct of the reactions taking place inside your body is uric acid. Various body parts, such as the knees, toes and kidneys, can be affected by the crystals that form as a result of taking in too much uric acid. Should this happen to you, a range of symptoms may arise – collectively they are referred to as gout. Severe pain in your joints and parts of your skin changing color are just a couple of the symptoms that are caused by gout.
There are many gout medications for sufferers to choose from; unfortunately, serious side effects from using them are possible. Natural gout remedies have become popular because of their lack of side effects. These natural gout remedies are simple and convenient offer much the same benefits as other gout remedies.
One natural way to convert uric acid into a harmless substance is through the consumption of plenty of raw vegetables and their juices. A mixture of carrot juice, beet juice and cucumber juice, in the ratio 3:1:1, makes for a good gout remedy. Even those with severe gout symptoms can benefit from this. About half a litre of this juice should be consumed daily for complete gout treatment.
Another option is fresh fruit. It can, either in its whole form or as a juice, greatly aid in recovering from a case of gout. Gout sufferers are advised in to consume cherries in particular, as they are an effective source of neutralizing uric acid and curing gout. About twenty fresh cherries should be consumed in the early days of the disease, though later on the number can be reduced by half.
You should strictly keep away from foods which tend to increase uric acid content of the body. These include tea, coffee, fried foods, meat, fish and eggs. All processed and canned foods also have to be avoided to recover from gout. As should foods which are high in fat and carbohydrates.
As simple as these guidelines may seem, they really do help to cure gout. Gout arises from chemical imbalances inside the body and by consuming the right food and drinks to restore the balance, it will soon disappear.
You’ll still need to show some commitment and patience though, as natural gout remedies aren’t a miracle cure. As with other things in life, you sometimes have to wait a while to reap the benefits.
